Welcome to our website.  Our 100% non paid volunteer fire department is committed to providing quality and rapid response for fires, emergency medical care, ice rescue, river rescue, traffic accidents and information to our residents and visitors to the Poudre Canyon.

The Poudre Canyon Volunteer Fire/EMS Department serves the residents and visitors of the Poudre Canyon in Bellvue, Colorado. The canyon is home to 500 full time residents with a summertime population of 1,500 and is host to nearly 300,000 visitors annually. These visitors engage in all sorts of activities including fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing, motorcycling and back country weekend getaways at one of our mountain resorts. Many of our emergency calls are to assist these visitors.

Responding to an area nearly 50 miles long, the Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District provides service to more than 100 square miles from Gateway Park to Cameron Pass along Colorado State Highway 14, and up County Road 69 and County Road 68C up to and including the Shambhala Mountain Center.

We are also committed to maintaining a healthy forest and providing our residents information and assistance on making their residence safe from wild fires. After the devastating High Park Fire that burned nearly 97,000 acres in 2012, all of us are on high alert to the dangers of wild fires.  Our department has purchased a large wood chipper with grant money that is available to our residents. Contact your local station for more information.

Our commitment to you is quality caring service.  We would encourage input from any of our residents or visitors.  You may contact any of our board members or the fire chief by visiting the contact tab on the left side of this page.
